Yes, You’d Like to See a Dessert Menu
“Would you like some dessert?” is the restaurant equivalent of Netflix asking, “Are you still watching?” The Orale dessert menu is for people who hit the Continue Eating button. Those are our kind of people.
One specialty dessert we’re particularly proud of, our Bang Cookies & “Milk”, is a delicious merging of two Jersey City food staples. We serve two warm double chocolate Bang Cookies with Bucket and Bay tequila-infused(!) vanilla gelato, a flavor exclusive to Orale. It’s local comfort food that also takes you somewhere brand new. There’s not another bite like it in the city.
Each of the other desserts is nod to traditional Mexican flavors with an extra punch for new wave culinary bravehearts. The Tres Leches starts with an airy lemon and black poppy seed cake soaked in three different milks and then served with bright, acidic macerated strawberries and strawberry Grand Marnier coulis. Our spin on a Vanilla Flan has chocolate-coffee dulce de leche, chocolate ganache, and kumquat marmalade. (Think of a kumquat as a tiny, distant cousin of the orange.)
Beyond that, we offer a selection of Bucket and Bay gelatos and sorbets a la carte, or you can dive right into the Helados Domingo, an ice cream sundae that includes a churro waffle. A churro waffle. No wonder we’re still watching and still eating.
