Both Orale Locations Release New Menu Items: Brunch, Dinner, Cocktails
The days are getting warmer. There’s optimism in the air. The aura has a healing power. And Orale has new brunch, mains, and cocktail menu items in both the Jersey City and Hoboken locations. Some dishes are brand new, and others have a post-quarantine glow up. Indoor and outdoor dining available. Good times guaranteed on both sides. Let’s go.
It’s Main-ly a Bucket
It took confidence for us to name a menu item “Bucket,” but that’s how certain we are you’ll love the return of lobster tail, mussels, octopus, calamari, chorizo, and potatoes, all served in, as advertised, a bucket. Crusty bread on the side for good measure.
We’re also celebrating the return of the one and only Dinosaurio, our slow-roasted bone-in short rib with chili de arbol brussel slaw and habanero-honey glazed baby sweet potatoes.
Blue Corn Crusted Calamari is a great sharing plate for dinner, as is our new Black Chili Crunch Guac, which is available with tastings of three or five guacs.
Some Fun? More Like a Brunch of Fun!
Brunch vibes are back in a big way. Some dishes carry over from the dinner menu: Tuna Crudo with a change-up in ingredients (citrus, mango, cilantro) that pushes us toward summer; Pulpo Pibil, a citrus achiote marinated seared octopus dish; and Surenos, two flour tortilla tacos with shaved ancho barbeque brisket and—take a second to let this sink in—cornbread crumbles.
But if it’s exclusivity you seek, try the brunch-only Vaquero Burrito, made with Coca-Cola BBQ pork, and/or the Cornbread Cake French Toast. The latter is the perfect for-the-table-but-one-person-eats-most-of-it order.
A ‘Tail as Old as Time
We made like the 1991 Vanessa Williams hit single and saved the best for last. What is the drink of the season, you ask? How, pray tell, will we capture summer’s essence and put it in a glass over ice? Our answer is the Watermelon Margarita, made with 1800 Reposado Tequila, watermelon (duh), cucumber, and lemon.
But it’s not the only answer. Our specialty drinks include the Papa Smurf, made with Paranubes Oaxacan rum, Green Mark Vodka, Blue Curaçao, banana, and pineapple, and Unicorn Poo, made with Heaven Hill Bourbon, St. George Raspberry Brandy, coconut, and lime.
